September 18 02:53 2020

Costa Mesa, CA, USA – September 17, 2020 – CaptureThought, the innovative device developed by math teacher, Joe DiOrio, records student’s problem solving process on video so teachers can monitor how students arrive at answers. The innovative technology is able to better aid teachers with distance learning, and elevate the remote learning experience.

CaptureThought works will practically every smartphone and is now available to the public. CaptureThought fits into a student binder, comes with a pad and pen, and provides everything necessary to help the teacher better teach their students.

Without teachers seeing how a student processes, they’re unable to break down their teaching style and address the challenges. It leaves a gap in the education process. CaptureThought provides a fun and easy way to connect student learning with their teachers in a captivating way that isn’t currently available with distance learning.

“CaptureThought bridges the distance in distance learning by recording and bringing the student’s process to the teacher’s awareness,” says DiOrio, founder of CaptureThought. “Every math student should have CaptureThought in their binder. It’s the best and most simple way for teachers to truly understand what students know about a certain concept.”

About Capture Thought

Capture Thought is a patent pending light-weight foldable smartphone stand that fits inside a standard 3-ring binder which enhances the student’s learning process by showcasing their understanding verbally via a video submitted for teacher review.

The teacher sees and hears each student’s problem solving process in their own words and can then give personalized, in Capture Thought is a phone stand that creates your own virtual classroom. It was invented by award-winning mathematics teacher, Joe DiOrio, from Costa Mesa, CA.

About Joe DiOrio

Joe DiOrio is an award-winning math teacher in Southern California. DiOrio has been teaching for 16 years at public schools, private schools and colleges. CaptureThought was invented by DiOrio, looking for ways to incorporate technology into the classroom with a simple, accessible and affordable tool that wasn’t dependent on the computer. Noticing that most students already carry a smartphone and a binder, he invented a phone stand to fit in the binder so students could record their thinking anywhere. DiOrio was honored as Educator of the Year for the California League of High Schools Region 1. He has earned his Master of Science degree in mathematics with an emphasis on math education from California State University at Long Beach in 2016. CaptureThought began in DiOrio’s garage as a 3D prototype in 2018.
