Creative Diagnostics introduces a series of fluorescent polystyrene particles for biological applications.

New York, USA – April 30, 2021 – With years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life science sector, Creative Diagnostics introduces a series of fluorescent polystyrene particles that can be used in biological field for tracing, cell labeling, in vivo imaging, drug discovery research and calibration of flow cytometry, and other applications. These fluorescent polystyrene particles are featured with various single or multiple fluorophores, sizes, emission spectra and surface functional groups.

Currently, there are several strategies for attaching biological ligands to polystyrene particles used as solid phase support in immunological tests and assays, including adsorption to plain polystyrene particles, covalent attachment to surface functionalized particles, and attachment of the ligand of interest to particles that are pre-coated with a binding protein such as Streptavidin, Protein A or Protein G. Fluorescent Polystyrene Particles are internally dyed, which free the surface of the beads for protein adsorption or covalent linking via functional groups.

Creative Diagnostics DiagPoly™ Fluorescent Polystyrene Particles are prepared by either incorporation of selected fluorophores into monodisperse polystyrene particles by means of swelling processes or by copolymerization of styrene with various organic fluorescent dyes, and these processes generate fluorophores labeled polystyrene particles with favorable properties, which have many advantages, such as low density, high particle size uniformity, high-intensity fluorescence, outstanding long-term stability under proper storage conditions (both color and fluorescence), great resistance to photobleaching, and minimized dye leaching.

“Our particle sizes can be ranged from 20 nm to 750 µm, with surface including Plain, Carboxyl, Primary Amine, Sulfate, Aldehyde-sulfate, Protein A, Protein G, NeutrAvidin, Biotin, and Streptavidin. You can also have various fluorophores options, such as Green, Orange, Red, Near-IR, Blue, Multiple Fluorescent, and Europium Chelate. If you need assistance in selecting beads for your application, we’re glad to be your partner.” said Dr. Jessica Waldorf, chief scientific officer of R&D department, at Creative Diagnostics.

For Polystyrene Particles, Green, researchers can find many choices at Creative Diagnostics, such as the DiagPoly™ Carboxyl Fluorescent Polystyrene Particles, Green, 0.02 µm(DCFG-L001), which are encapsulated with green fluorophores (excitation: 460 nm, emission: 500 nm) and functionalized with carboxyl groups (COOH) on the surface for the covalent attachment of proteins, peptides and nucleic acids. The density of liquid suspension is 1.05-1.06 g/mL. This new product can be applied in imaging and diagnostic purposes for signal enhancement and binding detection, fluid tracing, fluid mechanics studies, cell tracking, phagocytosis studies, latex agglutination tests, fluorescence microscopy, instrument calibration and biomedical technology research.

“There are numbers of standard dyes that we can easily incorporate into these polymer particles. Beyond these dyes, we can custom manufacture fluorescent polystyrene particles with a dye of your choice.” said Alex, one of a senior scientific officers at Creative Diagnostics.
